A Letterboxing Class

From: sandi_t88 (sandi_t88@yahoo.com) | Date: 2006-10-24 22:42:20 UTC
We have a mansion-turned-museum in the heart of our historic
district. It is surrounded by gorgeous Victorian homes so I decided
to create an urban letterbox that leads boxers down some of these
lovely streets and ends at the museum. When I went to get permission
from the museum we began discussing the entire hobby and they were
very enthusiastic about it.

In the end, we decided to do a Letterboxing Class in the spring.
We're going to do some basic carving, provide 'students' with local
clues (our family has hid the only boxes in our county) and just
basically get them started in Letterboxing. I'm very excited to
introduce others in our area to the hobby, especially if someone
besides me hides a few so I can go searching.

I live in western Illinois--your signature quote by Mark Twain
caught my attention--I grew up in his hometown.

Western Illinois! I'm in St. Louis! Hi neighbor!

There's a gathering coming up in Columbia, MO soon...if you're
interested, email me off-list and I'll pass on the info. Also, I'd
love to check out the Victorian houses you speak of, so please, email
me some info. Thanks!

That is fantastic! I am a huge fan of anythign that gets new visitors to smaller museums!

It also sounds like a LOT of fun!
